The bus stop by my house has a large tree right next to it, and it's the perfect sort of tree that shows the seasons. I've noticed lately it's been changing color and now it's dropping all its leaves onto the ground.
Yup, it's turning into fall.
Fall is one of my favorite times of the year. The weather is cool but usually not cold, and everything just seems clean. The sun still shines a fair bit here too, so we can easily forget that winter is right around the corner.
This fall may bring other good news as well. Only time will tell..

So much for dieting!
Sooo.. I was supposed to be doing the soup diet (and have a fridge full of soup to prove it) but gave up after not even a whole day!
I was starving and frankly just didn't have the willpower or motivation to do it. Sad really..
In other news I did lose about 6 lbs recently. In the middle of September I weighed myself and was about 155, and this morning I was only 149. So I must be doing something right :)

Soup Diet
A friend of mine recently found this Soup Diet and it sounds interesting so we've both decided to give it a go this week.
How it works is you make this soup (it gives a yummy broth based recipe but I imagine any sort of broth based vegetable soup would be fine), and you can eat as much of it throughout the week as you want. There's also different "rules" for each day of the week. For example, on day 1 in addition to the soup you can eat any fruit except bananas. The next day you can eat as many vegetables as you want. Each day is different. Apparently you're supposed to lose about 10lbs and it's a good "cleanser."
I figure even if I don't lose anything it's still a good way to clean out my system to start eating better. We'll see what happens.
Here's a picture of the soup:

I'm pretty excited to start it tomorrow.

I'm a horrible blogger...
Yup... I definitely am. I pretend to be good at it for a while and then I lose interest or run out of things to talk about and then I'm gone. Maybe that's not so bad. Maybe I don't really have anything interesting to talk about anyway so why bother having a blog at all?
The strange part is I'm great at journaling. I've kept a journal for YEARS, and while it's true that sometimes I go a month or two without writing in it, most of the time I update it once or twice a week at least.
I've thought about transferring my journal entries into my blog, but that just seems wrong somehow. Not quite the same.
I want to have a blog with a theme, but I don't have a recurring theme in my life. I have my job, and I have my occasional vacation, and my home life. Nothing fantastic to report on any of those fronts.
Should I write about how "normal" my life is? Not normal in the sense that everything is as it should be, but normal as in there's really nothing extraordinary about me or my life in any way. I'm not memorable, and when people ask me "what's new?" I honestly can't think of anything worth responding with. It's not that I think this is a bad thing in any way, it's just painfully "normal."
I'm definitely not complaining. I would take my "normal" over "dramatic" any day.
I made peanut butter cookies at 11:30pm. Is that normal? They look good.
